The Haryana Assembly elections began at 8 AM, and the stage is prepared to determine the fate of 1,031 contenders. Today is also the day that the votes for the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir election are being counted. Congress veteran and leader of the opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is running from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat, INLD candidate Abhay Singh Chautala, who is running from Ellenabad, JJP candidate Dushyant Chautala, who is running from Uchana Kalan, BJP candidate Anil Vij, Captain Abhimanyu, Congress candidate from Julana, and Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat are among the notable candidates in the race. Savitri Jindal, the emeritus chairperson of the OP Jindal Group, is running as an independent for the Hisar seat.

First indicators indicate that the Congress is still in the lead. Voter tallying started at 8 AM. According to News18 India, as of 8:50 AM, the Congress was ahead in 57 seats and the BJP in 22. Reports state that the Congress is leading in 53 seats, the BJP in 15, and the BJP in 25 seats.

According to News18 India, Congress is leading in 51 seats and BJP in 21, while Times Now reports that Congress is ahead in 47 seats and the BJP in 30.
