Wojciech Szczesny could come out of retirement to make a shocking move to Barcelona. The former Juventus goalkeeper hung up his boots this summer, after failing to make a move to Saudi Arabia.
Marc Andre ter Stegen’s serious injury has sent the club into panic mode, and they are now exploring options to bring in a new number one. Although Inaki Pena is available to deputise, the club wants to explore their options in the free agent market.

The 34-year-old’s agents, CAA Base, are exploring the situation and are yet to decide whether their client will be moving to the Spanish side. Ter Stegen is expected to be sidelined till next summer following his injury.
So, Szczesny could come in on a one-year deal if he is able to reach an agreement on personal terms. Since he would be joining as a free agent, he can be registered and can start playing in LaLiga right away.
However, the lack of training could be a deterrent for Hansi Flick, as Szczesny has been without a club for the past three months. The likes of Keylor Navas and Claudio Bravo have also been linked with a shock transfer, while rumours of a permanent signing in the January transfer window also persist.
