Andy Caroll has signed for French fourth-division side Bordeaux after leaving second division side Amiens. The veteran scored four goals in 35 games for the French second division side, and also featured in all four of their matches this season.

However, he has opted to sign for the fallen giants, after their heartbreaking double relegation at the end of the 23-24 season. His new club have confirmed the arrival of the former Liverpool striker, in what could prove to be a great deal.

“His size, his goal-scoring talent and his fighting spirit will certainly help the Navy and White this season,” the club wrote, welcoming the veteran.

“We can’t wait to see him on the pitch!”

Bordeaux had to surrender their professional status after declaring bankruptcy. As a result, a rumoured takeover by Liverpool owners FSG fell through as well, dooming them to non-professional status.

Caroll, on the other hand, has been on the move for the last few summers. After leaving Reading, he played for Amiens and has now signed for the fourth division side to make it eight clubs in his professional career. The veteran has earned nine caps for the England national team, scoring two goals.

Which other clubs has Caroll played for?

He has played for Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham United
