Huawei Set to Unveil MatePad Pro 12.2 Globally with a Tandem OLED display

Huawei is getting ready for a big announcement on September 19th, a global event when the company will unveil the newest products in its lineup, which may include the Watch D2 and the Huawei Watch GT 5. The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 (2024), which was already unveiled in China last month, is the star of the show, though.

With a brightness of up to 2,000 nits, triple the longevity of conventional OLEDs, and a notable 33% reduction in power usage, Huawei’s groundbreaking Tandem OLED PaperMatte Display is featured on this tablet.

The revised Watch GT 5 and blood pressure monitoring Watch D2 are now scheduled to launch on September 19, 2024, along with the Pro 12.2. Huawei has also alluded to the simultaneous release of a second “band-new” MatePad, which based on the information in its teasers appears to be a global rebranding of the Air (2024).

As of now, the teaser posts discuss the Tandem OLED PaperMatte Display, which debuted with the Pro 12.2. In addition to having a brightness of up to 2,000 nits, this dual-layer OLED should have three times the endurance of a standard OLED and a 33% lower power usage.

With 144Hz refresh rate, the MatePad Pro 12.2’s state-of-the-art display outperforms its Apple competitor in terms of brightness and possible speed. Additionally, it “could be” one of Huawei’s PaperMatte tablets, which are advertised as offering a more believable conventional sketching experience when used with the tablet’s unique M-Pencil 3 pen. This makes it seemingly ideal for those HarmonyOS-native GoPaint sessions.
