Hyundai Motor India Limited introduced the new Alcazar SUV on September 9. The seven-seater iteration of the Creta will be positioned above its five-seat-only sibling, and prices for it start at ₹14.99 lakhs (petrol) and ₹15.99 lakhs (diesel), ex-showroom The new Alcazar is now on sale at company dealerships; which have initiated bookings with a deposit of ₹25,000. Hugely anticipated with social media buzz especially due to brand ambassador Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, the Alcazar has landed in India.
The All New Hyundai Alcazar
The SUV is offered in seven exterior color options, including Abyss Black Pearl, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki Robust Emerald Pearl Starry Knight Titan Grey Matte It is offered in four trim levels: Executive, Prestige, Platinum, and Signature. The Alcazar is based on Hyundai’s Global Design Philosophy with Sensuous Sportiness and comes in both 6-seater as well as 7-seater configurations.
Then there is the Front, and this shows an improved look with H-shaped LED DRLs above its headlamps; a revised grille; a 3D Hyundai logo plus a silver wide faux skid plate. Meanwhile, on the outside are roof rails, new dual-tone alloy wheels, vertically aligned taillights with an LED lightbar, and a high-mounted stop lamp integrated into the roof spoiler.
It features a dual-tone layout in the cabin with black and brown seat upholstery. It gets a set of large 10.25-inch screens, one for the digital instrument cluster and another for infotainment functionality. The Alcazar gets a dual-zone climate control system as well individual AC vents for rear passengers and a premium Bose sound system along with a panoramic sunroof among other interior elements on offer. Dual-camera dash cam setup is in place while an AQI index air purifier has also been included within the features list of this upcoming SUV.
The driver seat has a memory feature while the co-passenger one is electric along with being a power recliner. Moving to the middle row, there are winged headrests for second-row passengers and captain seats in the 6-seater variant and the 7-seater variant featuring a seat tumble mechanism for easier access to the third row.
For safety, the new Alcazar comes equipped with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package that includes up to 19 functions including front and rear parking sensors, vehicle stability management, hill start assist, and a surround-view monitor. It also includes a 360-degree camera, blind spot assist, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Some of these features may be available only in the top-spec variants. The Alcazar continues to use its existing engine options: a 1.5L turbo petrol GDi engine delivering 160 hp and 253 Nm of torque with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT transmission, and a 1.5L diesel CRDi engine offering 116 hp and 250 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
