The club captain has entered the final year of his contract with Liverpool, but wants to stay till 2026. So far, no talks have been held with the club captain regarding a renewal, but the management will surely want to retain a player of his stature and importance.
Van Dijk also revealed that he questioned his performance after a draining 23-24 season for both club and country. While he was a bit shaken up, a conversation with national team head coach Ronald Koeman helped him put things into perspective.
While the defender admitted that his performance wasn’t up to expectations, he remains committed to playing for the national team and shouldering responsibility as the captain in the upcoming fixtures.
