The 31-year-old had an incredible run at Copa America 2024, scoring one goal and providing six assists as Colombia finished runners-up behind Argentina. Rodriguez was named the player of the tournament, and played a key role in his team’s success.
Now, he will be returning to Spain after spending a year in Brazil with Sao Paulo. He made only 14 appearances for them, and is on his way out after terminating his deal with them.
It will be interesting to see if James Rodriguez can keep up the form he found at Copa America at his new club. At his best, the playmaker has shown time and time again that he has the ability to decide games. However, inconsistencies have come up as part of his game before.
