Mahindra has once again generated a lot of buzz, this time with the launch of its latest lifestyle SUV in India – The Thar Roxx. Loaded with state-of-the-art features and uniquely designed to balance out rural tough charms contrasted by a modern urban look, the 5-door Thar Roxx presents an irresistible package of off-roading excitement coupled with city-slicking adventure.

Thar Roxx

The question is, though; Which Thar Roxx variant suits you the best? We will break down each variant to help you decide.

The All New Thar Roxx

Mahindra Thar Roxx: MX1

The MX1 is the base model and will be priced from ₹12.99 lakh to ₹13.99 lakh. It offers both a 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine with 2WD and a 6-speed manual transmission. The entry-level is sophisticated and features LED projectors, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, manual AC along with a lot of safety content like six airbags standard, and ESP with brake locking differential. Although the CX1 is perfect for those in need of a budget, tech-loaded SUV.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: MX3

Priced between ₹14.99 lakh and ₹17.49 lakh, the MX3 takes things up a notch over the MX1 with features such as wireless phone charging, drive modes, and terrain modes to make it more comprehensive for multiple driving scenarios. The MX3 is offered with a petrol engine and only an automatic gearbox as well as the diesel engine in manual or automatic options, offering just enough comfort tech and safety features to be considered excellent if not best-in-class for that price range.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: AX3L

At ₹16.99 lakh, the AX3L variant offers a 2.2-litre diesel engine with a manual transmission. It adds to what the MX3 brings with a full digital driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto as well as Level 2 ADAS. The AX3L is ideal for anyone who values modern technology and safety while not quite going as far up the list.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: MX5 and AX5L

The MX5 variant (₹16.49 lakh to ₹18.49 lakh) is available in both 2WD and AWD configurations while offering premium features like leatherette seats, a sunroof as well as additional safety equipment such as TPMS, and front parking sensors too. The AX5L, at ₹18.99 lakh, offers a diesel engine with automatic transmission, making it ideal for those seeking convenience and advanced off-road features.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: AX7L

The AX7L, priced from ₹19.99 lakh to ₹20.49 lakh, is the top-spec variant. It has premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The only other option for the Thar Roxx that offers a really luxurious and technology-packed experience, with all those stickers too.

Which One to Buy?

Which Mahindra Thar Roxx variant would you consider buying and why? If affordability is your top priority, the MX1 variant delivers a solid package with what you need to get started in one good value entry-level option. For those looking for a more feature-rich experience without breaking the bank, the MX3 or AX3L variants are solid options, offering a good mix of technology, safety, and convenience features.

If you desire a more luxurious experience with advanced off-road capabilities, the MX5 or AX5L variants are worth considering, especially if you’re keen on 4WD options. However, if you want the ultimate Thar Roxx experience, the AX7L variant is the way to go. With its premium features, advanced technology, and superior safety systems, the AX7L is perfect for those who want the best that Mahindra has to offer.
