OnePlus Launches New AI Features Exclusively for Nord 4 and Nord CE4 Lite 5G

OnePlus made a leap to the AI space early this year with a bunch of AI features in its smartphones. Over the weekend, the company announced more AI features. AI Speak, AI Summary and AI Writer are the new features that have been introduced on select budget-friendly smartphones of the Nord series. Many users of OnePlus’s high-end flagship hardware like the imminent OnePlus 12 may be disconcerted by this choice.

More About New AI Features from OnePlus

One of the new AI features, AI Speak allows users to audibly hear information read out in browsers and news applications. Users have a choice of male and female voices, and the function offers replaying, and sentence switching with playback rate adjustment.

The second feature is the AI Summary. The summary can be created from various articles, and you have the option to copy it, share it with others, or save it in notes. AI Writer is a writing assistant, the third feature that assists users to write texts for actions such as reviews emails, and social media posts.

These new features have been included in the AI Toolkit, now integrated into the sidebar. It really is a good feature that people would use if they knew about it: and to be clear, you will have to enable the screen recognition option in Settings > Accessibility & Convenience before being able to simply swipe out the sidebar.

Currently, the new AI capabilities are limited to regional availability on OnePlus Nord 4 and Nord CE4 Lite 5G smartphones. The OnePlus Nord 4 is sold in India, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, South Asia, Russia, and Latin America, while the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5G is exclusive to India.

As a result, not all OnePlus users can access these new AI features immediately. The decision to limit these features to certain Nord models has sparked criticism from OnePlus fans, particularly those with flagship devices. It’s possible that the company is using these models to test the new features before a broader rollout to other devices, such as the OnePlus 12, in the near future.
