Ederson has confirmed that he will be staying at Manchester City for a few more years, ending the links with a move to Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian was reportedly considering a move to the Middle East, but nothing materialised over the summer.
The goalkeeper recently helped City win the Community Shield against rivals Manchester United. He saved Jadon Sancho’s penalty in the shootout, before Jonny Evans blasted his effort over the bar in what proved to be the fatal mistake.

“I spoke to Pep and it was crucial… I’m happy to stay, fully focused on winning more titles here”.
“I also spoke to the board, directors, teammates and I’m staying”, told @j_castelobranco. pic.twitter.com/Bc4WVN6iMV
“It’s over. I spoke with some players, the coach, director, everyone. I talked to my family and it was a joint decision. We’ll stay more years at City. The media says many things, sometimes inventing a little more. But I’ve already decided my future, especially after the conversation I had with Guardiola. This season, I’m totally focused at City with my team-mates in search of more titles,” Ederson confirmed.
The 30-year-old has been with City since 2017, and will be playing his eighth season with them in 24-25. He has played an important role in establishing them as the top team in England, while winning the Premier League title six times.
Stefan Ortega, therefore, will remain the deputy goalkeeper for another few seasons till Ederson decides to end his spell with the Sky Blues.
