OnePlus Launches Monthly Software Update Series with Immediate Improvements and New Features

The company has introduced a new monthly update series for its smartphones in an effort to deliver every month and provide users with regular updates quickly. The updated program, detailed in a OnePlus community forum post, features versions U120P01 and U120P02 that should bring immediate enhancements to all participating devices without the usual staged over-the-air (OTA) rollout.

OnePlus New Monthly Software Update

The monthly updates are going to be in addition to the current cycle of periodic and security patches. The company will roll out these updates to compatible phones so users get the newest features and improvements as quickly as possible. Similarly, OnePlus may add its own apps to the updates.

“We are thrilled to announce the release of version U120P01 and version U120P02, a new monthly software update series for OnePlus devices that will be integrated into the regular system updates,” the company stated. The new update series is compatible with smartphones running OxygenOS 14.00 and later, as well as older versions like OxygenOS 13.1.0 and 13.00. The rollout started on August 2 and is being released in phases, with completion expected by September 6.

OnePlus 12 series, Open, 11 series, 10 series, 9 series, 8T, Nord 4 5G, Nord 3 5G, Nord 2T 5G, Nord CE 4 5G, Nord CE 3 5G, Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, Pad, and Pad Go. will be eligible to get these software updates including stable Android version changes. Users are advised to look for the OTA update through Settings > About device > OxygenOS card. This update will make it to devices in phases, as usual, beginning with a select few and expanding gradually.

“We urge you to check your device settings for this update and install it promptly to enjoy the new features. This update includes detailed information about the new functionalities and enhancements. We will continue to provide updates on the rollout’s progress, so stay tuned for further announcements,” the company added.
