Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has spoken out about Teun Koopmeiners, and the player’s desire to join Juventus. The Bianconeri have been pushing for the Dutch midfielder for months, and the player is now taking matters into his own hands as per the Italian manager.
The contract proposal is ready for the midfielder, and the two clubs are now expected to engage in talks for the transfer to go through. As things stand, an agreement is pending between the two sides.

“It was all going to plan until last week… then Teun Koopmeiners informed us that he wants to join Juventus”.
“He doesn’t want to train or play with us anymore”, Gasperini told Eco di Bergamo.
“Koopmeiners already has an agreement with Juve, doesn’t want to train with us. He’s stressed, he said”.
“He won’t play anymore and will stay out”, Gasperini announced ahead of the UEFA Super Cup game vs Real Madrid.
The attacking midfielder has been with Atalanta since 2021, when he made the move from AZ Alkmaar. This past season, Koopmeiners scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 51 games across all competitions, helping La Dea win the Europa League at the end of the campaign.
Anticipating the move for the 26-year-old, Juventus are prepared to let go of Federico Chiesa in case a decent offer arrives. The Italy international has also been informed that he is not a part of new manager Thiago Motta’s plans for the season, prompting a departure.
