Manchester United could soon be planning a tour of India as part of their pre-season preparations. The news comes from Qualcomm’s Chief Marketing Officer, Don McGuire. Qualcomm are the front-of-shirt sponsors for the club.
The club has a massive fan-following in India, and has hosted several events including legend visits and fan parks in the country. But, the prospect of the men’s first team coming for an exhibition match could be unprecedented.

“What we will do is work with the club on their summer tours. We will be a presenting sponsor on the tours, wherever it is. But we’d like them to take it around the world and share the love. And so we’re looking at markets that are big Snapdragon markets as well, to bring the team,” Don McGuire was quoted by The Athletic.
“Playing in China is a little bit different because there are a lot more layers of regulation you have to get through. But we’d love for them to play in China and India,” McGuire said.
This summer, The Red Devils travelled to the United States for their preseason tour alongside clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. However, Tottenham visited South-East Asia to continue their tradition. United could follow a similar practice to ensure that their fan-following in India continues.
