The Russo brothers strike again, as their latest sci-fi project, Citadel: Honey Bunny, has a confirmed release date that isn’t too far away. The original series starred Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Richard Madden, and Stanley Tucci as agents from a clandestine agency whose memory had been erased. After being released in April, fans of the franchise have been patiently waiting for the next installment.
Citadel: Honey Bunny is a brand-new Indian series directed by Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK) and written by Sita R Menon, based on the Citadel universe and executive produced by Anthony and Joe Russo.
Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will play the key characters in the new series, just as Chopra Jonas and Madden did in the original. The recently released teaser trailer promises plenty of action, shootouts, and simmering tension between the two characters, so we’re excited to see what this spin-off has in store.

The Indian series set in the Citadel universe combines the charm of the 1990s with an engaging plot and really captivating performances from Samantha as Honey, Varun as Bunny, and the full ensemble cast.
The fictional series will transport the audience back to the origins of this multinational covert spy service, digging deeper into its founding, activities, influence, and ascent in the unmistakable and sensational signature of Raj & DK, which the public has come to know, appreciate, and admire.

This isn’t the first spin-off from the original series; Citadel: Diana, starring Matilda De Angelis, will premiere in October and is the second series established in the Citadel universe.
Season 2 of Citadel, starring Madden and Chopra Jonas, will begin production this year, with Joe Russo serving as director.
