The 16-year-old is very impressive on the ball, with his control standing out as the most exciting part of his game. The youngster has been quite the revelation in Chelsea’s academy setup, but Liverpool were allegedly able to explain their pathway into the first team better than the Blues.
And even though Chelsea were able to match Liverpool’s offer financially, Rio Ngumoha has chosen to sign for Liverpool.
Given how the West Londoners are treating academy prospects like Trevoh Chalobah, and their tendency to sell academy graduates such as Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori, Lewis Hall, Billy Gilmour, Tino Livramento and Ian Maatsen in recent years, it makes sense why Ngumoha wanted a linear progression and the opportunity to stay in the senior team without being sold.
