Marco Reus is all set to join LA Galaxy after leaving Borussia Dortmund upon the expiry of his contract. The German legend is set to begin a new chapter in the MLS, and is sorting out the final details of his contract with the club before the move is complete.

The former Germany international spent 12 years with Borussia Dortmund, failing to win the Bundesliga title but winning the DFB Super Pokal and DFB Pokal titles during his time there.

The 35-year-old’s final game in black and yellow was a losing effort in the Champions League final against Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium. It was the same ground where Dortmund came up short against rivals Bayern Munich eleven years ago in the Champions League final.

And in spite of being one of the top players in the club’s history, Marco Reus leaves without having the silverware to show for it.

Charlotte FC were close to wrapping up the signing, but MLS clubs have a unique first refusal clause, which allowed LA Galaxy to pay €350,000 to close in on Reus.

How many goals did Reus score for BVB?

168 goals in 424 games
