Punjab FC have completed the signing of Filip Mrzljak to reinforce their midfield ahead of the new season. The 31-year-old most recently played for HNK Gorica in his native Croatia, and was the club captain.
Having come up through the Dinamo Zagreb academy and played for several top flight clubs across Europe, Mrzljak brings with him a wealth of experience. He has played over 280 senior games, and represented Croatia at the U21 level.

The midfielder has reportedly arrived in India, and has joined Punjab FC’s pre-season training camp. He is expected to be available for the Durand Cup, which starts in a little over a week.
The Shers have yet to invest in major attacking reinforcements. They lost Jordan Wilmar and Madih Talal both this summer, with Luka Majcen and Juan Mera also leaving upon the expiry of their contracts.
Vinit Rai will likely pair alongside Filip Mrzljak in midfield when the new season gets going, and it’ll be interesting to see how Punjab FC fare in the new season.
