Milan will pay Atletico Madrid a sum worth €13 million for the player, triggering his release clause. They have also agreed a four-year contract with the 31-year-old, with the final details to be sorted out imminently.
Alvaro Morata has a bright start to the season, but things eventually fizzled out for the striker as injuries hindered his progress. However, he ended up finishing the season with a respectable tally of 21 goals and five assists in 48 games.
In spite of a recent interview suggesting that he would be open to staying at Atletico, Morata has opted for a return to Italy. He previously played for Juventus, making 185 appearances for them and scoring 59 goals while providing 39 assists across two spells.
