Raphael Varane is all set to accept the proposal sent by Serie A newcomers Como. The defender is available on the market as a free agent after leaving Manchester United upon the expiry of his contract.
And after weeks of negotiations involving manager Cesc Fabregas as well, the French centre-back seems convinced by their project and could give his final go-ahead in the coming days.

The final details of the contract will be vetted over the next few days, which will be followed by a medical test for the player. Once the formalities have all been completed, Varane will officially be presented as a new player for the Serie A newcomers.
The 31-year-old was also linked with a move to Inter Miami, but seems set to continue in Europe, joining an interesting project. His time at Manchester United was significantly hindered by recurring injuries, which led to his premature retirement from the French national team.
The former Real Madrid defender could still be an important presence in the dressing room for Como, as they look towards a strong performance in the top flight.
