Manchester United are in talks with Olympique Marseille over the transfer of Mason Greenwood. The French club has sent an official bid for the forward, who spent this past season on loan at Getafe.
United are flexible about the nature of the deal, and are willing to accept a proposal for a loan with the obligation to buy. However, they want to include a sell-on clause in his contract for a percentage of any future fee.

It could be even up to 40/50% of the future sale, clubs are in talks about that.

United and Marseille’s discussions are primarily based on the value of the sell-on clause. The French club has sent an official bid, and United want to include a massive percentage up to 40-50% of the future fee.
This shows how highly the club still values their academy graduate, in spite of his reputation away from the sport. In the 23/24 season, Greenwood scored eight goals and provided six assists in 33 LaLiga games for Getafe, alongside two goals in three Copa del Rey games which is a decent return.
Now, it remains to be seen if Marseille can quickly wrap up negotiations to finalise the transfer of the 22-year-old.
