It will be interesting to watch how the Bajaj Freedom 125 is launched and what kind of impact it has on the two-wheeler market. Since the costs of fuels and pollution are two major concerns for Indian two-wheeler customers this CNG tech could definitely help. This motorcycle gets a two-litre (tentatively) petrol tank limited to reserve! Despite being fully packed, the Bajaj Freedom 125 is said to return a mileage of around 213 kilometers per kilo of CNG making it legendary efficient for such commuters.
As seen in the video played during the launch, it has been through 11 safety tests of BSIV. Among the tests, a significant one is called the ‘truck rollover test’ in which the CNG tank was crushed under truck tires but did not explode and its pressure remained unchanged.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, present at the launch, emphasized the importance of reducing India’s crude oil import bill and promoting alternative fuels. He highlighted the growth of India’s automobile industry, noting its role as a wealth and job creator. Gadkari expressed pride in India surpassing Japan to become the third-largest automobile market and reiterated his goal of transforming India into a five trillion-dollar economy.
