Bayern Munich are in the process of negotiating a deal with Manchester United for Matthijs De Ligt. The two clubs have made contact and are advancing towards an agreement over the coming days, report various sources.
However, United will have to pay a sizeable fee to sign the 24-year-old this summer, as he has three years left on his contract with Bayern.

As per Mike Verweij, the Netherlands international has been offered a five-year contract by Manchester United. Erik Ten Hag has also held several telephonic conversations with his former Ajax player over a potential reunion at Old Trafford.
The player is open to the transfer, and is waiting for the outcome of the club to club discussions to make his mind up.
Interestingly, the only unsellable defender for Bayern this summer is Eric Dier given his leadership qualities and his relatively low wages. The club has already signed Hiroki Ito to reinforce their defence, and is also in the market for Jonathan Tah. Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min Jae could also leave the club if a good offer arrives, although no approach has been made for them yet.
