Exynos W1000 has more advanced chips than Apple S9 for a smartwatch

According to rumors, a new Exynos W1000 chipset will significantly improve the performance and efficiency of the Galaxy Watch. The SoC, which is based on Samsung’s SF3, a second-generation 3nm node, is a significant improvement over the 5nm W930 found in the Galaxy Watch5 of the present generation.

The world’s most sophisticated wearable chip will be this one. Comparatively, the S9 5nm chip is used by the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The Exynos W1000 is said to provide 20% improved power efficiency and better performance. This should improve the performance and battery life of the Galaxy Watch 7.

It is said that this date was selected to optimize the advertising of the new products in advance of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which will begin on July 26. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 are also rumored to have foldable screens that are “wrinkle-free”—that is, to have no discernible crease—unlike Samsung’s earlier models.

Exynos W1000

Putting Samsung’s smartwatch line aside, we may look at Apple instead. The Exynos W1000 is a significant improvement over the 5nm S9 chip.

Strong rumors indicate that Samsung is preparing three new smartwatch models. It’s unclear which of those are the most sensible—a cheap (FE, if you will), a regular, and a Pro. Anticipate 32GB of storage, a larger battery Pro, and blood sugar monitoring.

To promote the new models during the 2024 Summer Olympics, which begin on July 26, Samsung is anticipated to unveil the new Galaxy Watch7 variants together with the new Galaxy Z series around July 10.

Exynos W1000

According to the suggestion, Samsung will rename the 3nm SoC the Exynos W1000, departing from the Galaxy Watch series’ present naming convention. Second-generation architecture, which Samsung is employing, increases the likelihood of power improvement.

The new Exynos W1000 chip in the Samsung Galaxy Watch is expected to improve performance and power efficiency by 20%, according to the report. Herein lies the point at which the report deviates from earlier conclusions. Rumors from the past that were considered “sketchy” claim that the new SoC will enhance power by 30% while increasing efficiency by 50%.
