Ipswich Town have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the permanent signing of Omari Hutchinson. The winger will make the move for a fee worth £22 million including add-ons, and will remain with the Premier League newcomers.
Chelsea have discussed a sell-on clause in the player’s contract with Ipswich, and are also entitled to pay Arsenal £3 million for his move. The Gunners had negotiated a 15% clause when he joined Chelsea, and will now benefit from his move too.

Hutchinson spent this past season on loan in the Championship, and had an impressive season, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 44 games.
Kieran McKenna’s decision to remain at Ipswich Town was very important in the 20-year-old making his mind up. And now, he will remain with the Tractor Boys as they take on a whole new challenge in the top flight.
Chelsea already have Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke competing for game time on the right wing, meaning there was realistically very little chance for Hutchinson to break into the senior team if he returned. Therefore, a transfer is perhaps the best outcome for all parties involved.
