Chelsea have activated Barcelona youngster Marc Guiu’s release clause worth €6 million and have reached an agreement on personal terms for his transfer. The player is set to sign a deal till 2030, and will become the latest addition to the first team for the new season.

Barcelona had offered the La Masia graduate a new contract, but he was reluctant to commit his future to the club because of doubts over playing time. And now, he has decided that he will try a new challenge away from Barca with a young Chelsea team.

The young striker made headlines by scoring only 23 seconds into his senior debut for Barcelona against Athletic Club, and also scored his first Champions League goal against Royal Antwerp this past season.

Across all competitions, the youngster has scored 9 goals and provided four assists in 27 games. Standing at 1.87 metres, he already has a towering physical presence and could use his strength effectively in the Premier League.

Barcelona will be disappointed to lose one of their top youngsters for such a low price, but they already have their #9 position sorted out, with Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Vitor Roque all competing for game time.

Which other players has Chelsea signed this summer?

Tosin Adarabioyo, Willian Estevao and Omari Kellyman
