Jean-Clair Todibo’s potential transfer to Manchester United has been blocked by UEFA, owing to their multi-club model rules. As per the ruling implemented on May 14, 2024, no two clubs competing in the same UEFA competition can exchange players.
Manchester United qualified for the Europa League after winning the FA Cup, and are now facing a tricky situation in bringing the French defender over to England.

“They’ve said we can sell him to another Premiership club but we can’t sell to Manchester United,” Ratcliffe said. “But that’s not fair on the player and I don’t see what that achieves.”
Fans have been complaining about Manchester City being able to sign Savio, who was playing for Girona this past season, and helped them qualify for the Champions League. However, Savio was on loan from Troyes, also owned by the City Group, and the deal to bring him over was signed well before the new ruling was brought in.
As a result, Manchester United will have to find a creative workaround if they cannot find an alternative solution to the multi-club problem.
When does Todibo’s contract with Nice expire?
