Vangelis Pavlidis is set to join Benfica from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in a deal worth €19 million, including €2 million in add-ons. The striker received several late offers, but respected his agreement with Benfica and is now set to join the Portuguese side.

The medical test has been scheduled for Thursday, 20th June, and will be followed by the official signing of the documents once he has passed the tests.

Vangelis Pavlidis to join Benfica in €19 million transfer

The 25-year-old was tied for the most goals scored in the Eredivisie this past season with Luuk de Jong, who had also scored 29 goals in 34 games. However, the PSV Eindhoven striker had also provided an eye-catching 15 assists, while Pavlidis provided four.

Which other clubs were interested in signing Vangelis Pavlidis?

Stuttgart, and several Italian clubs.
