Tanguy Ndombele has officially left Tottenham as a free agent, mutually terminating his contract which was set to run out in 2025. The midfielder arrived in 2019 as the club’s record signing for £60 million, when Jose Mourinho was in charge.
However, he struggled to make an impact at the club and after three loan spells, he has now been moved on.

This past season, the French midfielder was on loan at Galatasaray, with whom he won the Turkish Lig title. However, his appearances were very limited, with only 456 minutes played in the league over 19 appearances.
Galatasaray had the option to make Tanguy Ndombele’s signing permanent for €15 million, but have decided not to spent that kind of money to sign him.

In spite of showing flashes of his brilliance, Ndombele was unable to stay consistent with his quality while at Spurs. He was eventually sent back on loan to Lyon in 2022, but was unable to hit the same heights again. The following summer, he was loaned to Napoli, where he also struggled to get adequate game time, but won the Scudetto, before his move to Galatasaray this past season.
Aged 27, Ndombele still has a few years to revive his career and has the liberty and time to choose his next club where he can adapt comfortably.
