With Mario Hermoso leaving the club as a free agent, Axel Witsel and Jose Gimenez battling injuries throughout the season, Atletico need a reliable option to maintain their defence throughout the season. And Le Normand’s consistency will surely aid them greatly if they can get the deal over the line.
Al Nassr’s Aymeric Laporte has also been considered as a possible option, but Robin Le Normand seems like the more probable option as things stand.
The 27-year-old will be able to provide an instant impact, with extensive experience in La Liga, as well as with the Spanish national team now that he is representing them at the Euros.
