Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing the European Championships for the sixth time in his career, having won the title once in 2016. That title remains the only trophy the prolific striker has won with the Portugal national team.

The five time Ballon d’or winner has made a career out of breaking records, and could make history again when he takes to the pitch in Germany for Euro 2024. Here are some of the records he could break in the upcoming tournament.

Oldest goalscorer at Euros

Currently, Ivica Vastic (38 years, 257 days) holds the record for being the oldest goalscorer at the Euros, having scored for Austria against Poland in 2008. Aged 39, Ronaldo can easily set the record for himself if he scores even once in the tournament.

Only player to make six Euro appearances

Barring last minute injuries, Cristiano Ronaldo is set to become the only player in history to play the European Championships six times in their career, once he plays in Germany.

Ronaldo could also become one of the oldest players to feature in the Euros, but that record is likely to be broken by 41-year-old Pepe, who has been named in the Portugal squad by Roberto Martinez, and is very likely to play as well.
