For those who like the size and practicality of sub-4m SUVs, premium hatchbacks do offer a good alternative. This segment involves the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza, and Hyundai i20. With the MY24 Altroz, Tata seems to now be targeting a greater market share in this space. This new information was shared with Motor Arena.

The All New 2024 Tata Altroz

Okay, so the new 2024 range of the Tata Altroz teased yesterday is exactly what the leaked Altroz Racer brochure showed us. New features, new variants, and an inevitable adjustment or two—welcome to the MY24 version including one powertrain combo that’s been excised presumably due to meddling consultants.

Primarily influenced by the soon-to-arrive Altroz Racer, the 2024 Tata Altroz gains four new LUX suffixes in the trim level’s roster: the XZ LUX, XZ+ S LUX, XZ+ S LUX Dark, and another variant that is all but confirmed to be titled XZ LUX Dark. The 2024 Altroz is available in Avenue White, Arcade Grey, Opera Blue, Downtown Red, and Cosmo Dark color options. For reference, LUX models pick up some additional kit including a 10.25-inch touchscreen and 360-degree camera.

The 2024 Altroz gets a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster that is shared with other Tata cars and is derived from the Altroz Racer. While the XZ LUX does not get the rear camera at all and the XZ+ S and XZ+S LUX get it at the rear. The XZ+ S variant does not include the 10-inch infotainment screen, while the XZ LUX does not have the 7-inch instrument screen. The XZ+S LUX variant includes both features and adds 6 airbags on top, a first for the Altroz lineup.

Unfortunately, Tata has discontinued the Altroz i-Turbo variants. The 2024 Altroz now offers three powertrain options: 1.2L NA Petrol (88PS, 115Nm, 5MT, 6DCA), 1.2L NA i-CNG (73.5PS, 103Nm, 5MT), and 1.5L Diesel (90PS, 200Nm, 5MT). The launch is expected in the coming days, possibly with a slight price increase due to the revised variants.
