Jerome Boateng has been officially announced as a new signing for Austrian club LASK, joining them from Salernitana. The former Bayern Munich defender only spent six months with the Serie A club after joining them at the end of the January transfer window.
However, he ended up making only seven appearances for the Italian side as they finished at the bottom of the table, relegated to Serie B. Now, he will be playing in the Austrian league, outside of Europe’s top five.

The 35-year-old has been ruled out of top clubs after being convicted for causing serious bodily harm to the mother of his twin daughters and his ex, during a holiday in the Caribbean.
The guilty verdict was upheld after a second hearing in 2022, when Jerome Boateng was signed to Lyon, also resulting in a criminal record and a fine of €1.8 million. However, a third appeal resulted in the court rescinding their decision and ordering a re-trial citing procedural errors.
There were rumours that the former Germany international would return to Bayern Munich, after he was spotted training with the club in October. But now, he has signed for LASK in what could be one of the final transfers of his football career.
