Both the Skoda and Volkswagen brands have done well with their MQB A0 IN-based vehicles. Both companies are preparing to refresh their respective lineups, with facelifted models likely to precede any new releases. And in these lines, the Indians are looking at the 2024 Skoda Slavia facelift for the first time.

More About the 2024 Skoda Slavia

Skoda Slavia is the crossover sedan that takes things to a higher space of compact and mid-size sedans in India. Its relatively high ground clearance is aimed at blending the attributes of a sedan with those of a tall-riding crossover. The Slavia is designed to be a favorite of sedan lovers, but also fans of thrills. The 2024 Skoda Slavia facelift will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor with a raft of fresh features and equipment.

Dubbed the Slavia facelift, a heavily camouflaged prototype was spotted in Pune by Akshay Ballal – who is into automotive spy shots. Although the camouflage is pretty comprehensive, it is still possible to spot some key Skoda design cues. The spy shots show only the back, though even on these patches of thin camouflage one can clearly make out C-shaped tail lights that mimic those found on the current model. Some of the tail light that intrudes into the tailgate would be hidden within opaque camouflage and also a reworked back bumper could be anticipated with all the Slavia facelift.

The vehicle’s side profile largely looks the same as that of the existing Slavia, right through to those wheels — identical and finished in matte black so as not to give its identity away. Body creases running the sides of the car are also matched, suggesting most styling changes will appear upfront. Skoda-typical changes can be expected, which are likely to be limited to new headlamps in different designs (perhaps full-LED lamps), a restyled grille, and a re-profiled front bumper.

Skoda and VW need more feature-rich cars to remain prospective in the game while keeping costs under check. Panoramic sunroofs, rear disc brakes, 360-degree cameras, and Level-2 ADAS are some of the advanced features that the rival manufacturers offer. The powertrain choices for the Slavia continue, with the 1.0L 3-cylinder TSI Turbo Petrol engine and 1.5L 4-cylinder TSI EVO Turbo Petrol engine.

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India recently celebrated multiple milestones, including reaching 1.5 million units produced since the first Skoda Fabia rolled off the production line in 2009, and the MQB A0 IN-based vehicles registering 300,000 units. The company aims to further increase its sales volume moving forward.
