Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored the most goals in a single Saudi Pro League season, with his 35th goal of the season in 31 games. The striker also provided 11 assists, taking his total goal contributions to 46 this season.

The 39-year-old scored twice to defeat Al Ittihad 4-2 and surpass the previous record of 34 set by Abderrazak Hamdallah in 2019. In spite of his age, the Portugal captain continues to perform at the highest level, showing his passion for the sport in the celebration after he achieved the record.

While Ronaldo broke the scoring record, his team finished second, 14 points behind Al Hilal, who won the league title unbeaten, winning 31 games and drawing only three.

The veteran will now turn his attention to the Euros, for which he has been named in the final squad. This will be the 11th time that Cristiano Ronaldo will play the European Championships, having won the title two times in his career.

But after missing out on the FIFA World Cup, the striker will want to give it his all once again to claim silverware with the national team again.
