Vincent Kompany has become the latest manager to be linked with the Bayern Munich job. The former Manchester City defender and current Burnley manager suffered relegation from the Premier League in his first season managing in the top flight.
However, his style of play has been widely appreciated, especially after his achievements in the Championship last season. And Bayern have now made contact with the young manager to try and recruit him as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement.

The 38-year-old is considered a key part of the project in place at Burnley, where he played possession style football, including playing the ball out from the back. While he stuck to his tactics, they didn’t lead to results as the team made several individual errors throughout the season, which cost them their place in the top flight.
The extent of Vincent Kompany’s talks with Bayern remains unrevealed. However, he might not be the first or second choice for them in their managerial hunt with several other options such as Roberto De Zerbi reportedly favoured.
It now remains to be seen whether Kompany will make an incredible switch from Burnley to Bayern this summer, in what would be his first top European club.
