The finals of the 23/24 Europa League have now been confirmed, with Bayer Leverkusen and Atalanta set to face off in Dublin for the title. Xabi Alonso’s side extended their unbeaten run to 49 games across all competitions, breaking Benfica’s record set over 60 years ago.
The German club now holds the record for the most unbeaten games in a row, and could end the season with an unbeaten treble. They have already won the Bundesliga title, and will face Kaiserslautern in the DFB Pokal final, while Atalanta await them in the Europa League final.

Leverkusen turned up in the last minute once again, with Josip Stanisic scoring in the seventh minute of added time to make it 2-2 after Leandro Paredes scored two penalties.
Atalanta thrashed Marseille 3-0 in the second leg of their semifinal tie to seal their place in the final. Ademola Lookman, Matteo Ruggeri and El Toure scored for the Italian side as they sealed a place in the finals of a major European competition.
Leverkusen are still the favourites heading into the game, but Atalanta cannot be written off so early. They were responsible for eliminating Liverpool en route to the penultimate stage of the tournament, and could still pull off another surprise.
