MI defeated SRH by 7 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium, with 16 balls left in the innings. The hosts comfortably chased down their target of 174 thanks to a brilliant partnership between Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav, who scored the winning runs with a 6 to complete his century.
Yadav has been in top form in the IPL this season, and has also earned a call-up to the Indian national team for the T20 World Cup. And with his century, he showed exactly why he has returned to the team for the first time since 2021.

In the first innings, Travis Head missed out on a half century by just two runs, as he was dismissed by the resurgent Piyush Chawla. The 35-year-old finished his spell with a figure of 3-33 while captain Hardik Pandya finished his spell with 3-31, dismissing NK Reddy, Marco Jansen and Shahbaz Ahmed in the middle of the order.
SRH got off to a good start in the run chase, with their pacers dismissing Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir by the fifth innings. But, they couldn’t get the better of the match-winning pair, who toughed it out to earn two vital points for the men in blue.
