Ralf Rangnick has rejected Bayern Munich’s offer to recruit him as the new head coach. The Austria national team manager has cited personal reasons as the reason behind his decision to not join the Bavarians.
“I’m the Austrian team coach with all my heart. This is not a rejection of Bayern, but rather a decision for my team and our common goals”, Rangnick said. As a result, the club will need to continue their search for a new head coach with Thomas Tuchel leaving at the end of the season.

First, Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso was the preferred choice for the club, before he committed to the new Bundesliga champions. Unai Emery was also on Bayern’s list, but he signed a new contract with Aston Villa until 2027, ending all speculation for a move.
Now, with Ralf Rangnick rejecting Bayern, the club could turn to Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi. However, there are other names on the list for Bayern to pursue.
Rangnick, on the other hand, will lead Austria into the European Championships this summer, in what will be a huge opportunity for the former Leipzig and Manchester United manager.
