Barcelona youngster Pau Cubarsi has become a regular under Xavi Hernandez this season, with the La Masia graduate impressing when called upon. The youngster is set to sign a new contract with the senior team for a pay rise, and his new contract will also include a €1 billion release clause which is similar to the other highly rated youngsters at the club such as Lamine Yamal, Ronald Araujo and Gavi.
Cubarsi is considered a key part of the future project, and the details are still being discussed with Deco before the renewal.

The 17-year-old has shown remarkable composure at the back, and has been chosen over the likes of Andreas Christensen and Inigo Martinez by Xavi.
Since the youngster is eligible for the Olympics, the RFEF will likely send Pau Cubarsi to Paris, and will avoid sending him to the European Championship. The reason behind it is to avoid what happened with Pedri, who has struggled to play even 50% of games since 2021.
The midfielder played both the Euros and the Olympics after a very draining season with Barcelona, and has since been struggling with injuries. And both Spain and Barcelona are keen to avoid the same with Cubarsi and Yamal.
