East Bengal are set to add Debjit Majumder to their squad for the coming season, with the Chennaiyin FC goalkeeper set to sign a two-year contract. The 36-year-old played for the Red and Gold side between 2010-11 and 2020-21, and has been with the Marina Machans since 2021.
After spending three years with them, he is now set to return to Kolkata, and will likely be the #2 at the club after Prabhsukhan Gill.

Majumder played 18 ISL games this season, keeping only three clean sheets, but ultimately helping Chennaiyin make it to the playoffs. The team was eventually eliminated in the first game of the playoffs against FC Goa, but they had a stunning finish to the season nonetheless.
Now, the club is heavily investing in new talent to hand Owen Coyle a competitive squad for the new season. Jamshedpur FC’s Daniel Chima, Elsinho Dias and Landinpuia and agreed terms with Mandar Rao Desai of East Bengal too.
