Liverpool have turned their attention to Feyenoord manager Arne Slot as the replacement for Jurgen Klopp. The German manager leaves at the end of the season, marking the end of an era for the Reds during which they won their first Premier League title and their sixth Champions League title, while also becoming one of the best teams in the world.
The Anfield club have had their first offer of €9 million rejected by the defending Eredivisie champions. However, they are not expected to give up the chase just yet, with the in-demand manager at the top of the list after Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim didn’t work out.
Liverpool want Arne Slot as new manager to replace Klopp
🔴🇳🇱 Van Dijk: “Arne Slot is one of the better Dutch coaches at the moment”.

“With the way he plays, the philosophy he has, he can be a Liverpool coach”.
“But I read and hear that it is far from complete. We shall see. We will focus on that next season, still a long way off”. pic.twitter.com/DgWs4vuDlv
Slot led Feyenoord to their second Eredivisie title in two decades last year, and has led them to second place this time around. The club also won the Dutch Cup last Sunday, adding to his tally of silverware.
Liverpool have been going about their business carefully, and have identified Arne Slot as a suitable option because of his style of play. Feyenoord tend to dominate possesion and are very quick in build up, which should help facilitate the transition to the post-Klopp era for the Reds.
While the manager himself is keen to move to England, an agreement between the clubs is necessary before anything happens. Slot has a contract with Feyenoord until 2026, without a release clause.
