Inter have won the Serie A title for the 20th time in their history, after their 2-1 win over rivals Milan in the Derby Della Maddonina. Simeone Inzaghi’s side completely outplayed their local rivals, and were well deserving of another win in the big game.
They have now mathematically been confirmed as the new champions of Italy, dethroning Napoli who are close to missing out on Champions League football.

Francesco Acerbi scored the opening goal for his side, before Marcus Thuram produced a brilliant finish cutting in from the left to make it 2-0. Fikayo Tomori was able to pull one back for the Rossoneri late in the game, but it wasn’t enough for them to salvage a point.
The end of the game saw a brawl between Theo Hernandez and Denzel Dumfries, with both defenders sent off. Milan captain Davide Calabria was also sent off for his involvement in the confrontation.
Milan have probably had their last derby under Stefano Pioli, with the manager likely to leave at the end of the season. On the other hand, Inzaghi is likely to stay on as the Inter manager when next season comes around.
