The left-footed wingback has racked up an incredible 26 goal contributions in 42 games across all competitions. Part of the reason behind it is the license he has been given to go forward and not have to worry so much defensively, which is shown by his stats. The fact that he is played in a back three system also contributes to highlighting his best traits.
Not only does Alejandro Grimaldo have a contract until 2027 with Bayer Leverkusen, but there’s also a lot of questions marks over the role he could have if he does make the move.
Bayern Munich are in a state of transition, just like Liverpool, who also have Andy Robertson as the regular starter, with Kostas Tsimikas available as a regular backup. Arsenal play with four central defenders, and barely play Jakub Kiwior in the first place, which is why a player like Grimaldo wouldn’t have a place in Mikel Arteta’s system unless there is a change.
