Reports have now emerged on Neymar’s life behind the scenes at PSG before his departure to Al Hilal this summer. The Brazilian made a €90 million transfer to Saudi Arabia, and made five appearances for his new club before being ruled out with a serious knee injury while with the Brazilian national team.
The winger was known for his partying away from the pitch, and apparently arrived intoxicated to training sessions on several occasions. In addition, he was also involved in arguments with Sergio Ramos, Vitinha, a youth player named Ismael Gharbi as well as his former Barcelona teammate, Lionel Messi.
Neymar’s reasons for leaving PSG this summer come to light
The 32-year-old was also frustrated with how PSG centred their project around Kylian Mbappe instead of him. Lionel Messi was reportedly not impressed with the same, and Mbappe is now set to leave this summer as well, following Messi and Neymar.
Neymar’s €222 million transfer was a mixed bag at best. Even though he showed glimpses of his ability and provided a significant amount of goal contributions, he was unable to deliver in the crucial stages of the Champions League.
His frustration forced him to leave the club in the summer, and even though he is earning a lot at his new club, he is sidelined with another major injury at the time.
