HMD Unveils Nokia 6310, 5310, and 230 Feature Phones: A Blend of Classic Design and Modern Features

While all the smartphones have been reinvented and reintroduced as part of the new multi-brand strategy, the legacy Nokia brand still powers feature phones. The latest one is the debut of the Nokia 6310 (2024), 5310 (2024), 230 (2024), and other models.

The Nokia 6310 (2024) comes with several significant upgrades, a 1,450 mAh battery, and a USB-C connection for charging, but is otherwise identical to the 2021 version. The rear has a VGA camera with a flash. A 2.8 “LCD is present on the front, while dual-SIM support allows for hot swapping cards, both of which can be bought on standby simultaneously. The set includes an extra slot for microSD cards.

HMD has maintained the original design of the 5310 (2020) while expanding its size to accommodate the larger 1,450 mAh battery. The chipset has transitioned to Unisoc 6531F from the previous MediaTek platform, resulting in a larger 2.8” LCD screen. Retaining its musical heritage, the 5310’s playback controls are located on the right side, with volume keys on the left. A USB-C port has been added at the bottom, while internal features such as 8/16 MB memory, dual speakers, and FM radio remain unchanged.

Nokia 230 (2024)

As with its siblings, the Nokia 230 maintains its original appearance but receives a battery boost. The device is almost identical to the 2015 model because it retains the 2.8” TFT display with 65K colors. The 2MP camera with an LED flash on either the front or back panels has also been retained. Additionally, the battery has been increased to 1,450 mAh, and the addition of a USB-C port.

With the Unisoc 6531F chipset, users can connect to Bluetooth 5.0, although the 3.5mm audio jack remains intact. Furthermore, the 8/16 MB doesn’t change, across storage specifications. HMD has yet to reveal the phones’ costs. The downside is that all three phones are limited to 2G networks and are incompatible with 3G and above.
