Liverpool have reportedly offered Ruben Amorim a three-year contract to join them as their new manager this summer. The Sporting CP boss hinted that he could leave the club in the summer, and it now seems like first contact has been made by the Reds.
There is a €20 million release clause in Amorim’s contract for foreign clubs, which include Liverpool. However, the general feeling is that even €10 million could be enough to lure him away from Portugal.

Xabi Alonso was linked as the preferred candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp this summer after the German shockingly announced that he would be leaving at the end of the season. However, Alonso has now declared that he will remain at Bayer Leverkusen for the new season, ruling out a move back to Merseyside.
In his stead, Ruben Amorim has emerged as the top candidate. And once the financial details have been agreed between the two parties, he could sign on as the new manager before the end of the season.
An official announcement might not be made till after the season is over, out of respect for Klopp. But a move for Amorim would be smart, considering how effective the young manager has been during his time with Sporting.
