Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has reportedly decided his future, and he intends to stay on with the club in spite of an underwhelming season. The Italian has struggled for goals this year, scoring only six times in spite of playing over 1500 minutes in the league.
The number 9 was once Serie A’s top scorer, but his scoring stats have taken a nosedive this season. And the lack of stability with Maurizio Sarri’s sacking hasn’t helped his cause.
Ciro Immobile set to stay at Lazio in spite of scoring problems
Several fans have called for Valentin Castellanos to take Immobile’s place as the starting centre-forward in the team. The Argentine has scored four goals this season, and is young, meaning he could be an option for the future.
However, it will be interesting to see whether Igor Tudor can get the best out of Ciro Immobile now that he is in charge of the team. Rotation with Castellanos will probably the best option for Lazio at this stage.
Immobile, similarly, will stay at the club until 2026, when his contract runs out. Only a massive offer from Saudi Arabia or an approach from Inter could change his mind.
