Max Allegri could leave Juventus at the end of 23/24 in spite of Coppa Italia and UCL qualification

Max Allegri could leave Juventus at the end of the season in spite of having another year left on his deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Bianconeri are currently third in Serie A behind Inter and Milan, and are expected to qualify for the Champions League next season. They are also halfway through to the Coppa Italia final, defeating Lazio 2-0 in the first leg. But, it seemingly isn’t enough for the 56-year-old to stay on.

Allegri has come under harsh criticism for his style of play, frequently labelled as defensive and boring. He has also been criticised for failing to bring out the best of attackers such as Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic. But, the results have spoken for themselves.

Although Juventus are not the undisputed kings of Italy anymore, they have comfortably registered themselves as a Champions League side. They weren’t able to make it to Europe this season because of punishment from UEFA. But, next season looks likely for them.

In either case, finding a replacement for Max Allegri will be difficult considering the current state of the market. Having spent almost ten years at the club, Allegri knows how things work in Turin inside out. Replacing him for a manager who can play more exciting football could be a reasonable decision. But, the stability of the team must also be considered before taking such a call.
