The impending launch of the Vivo Y200e 5G in India has been confirmed, with the company recently teasing its design and color variants. Earlier reports hinted at a potential unveiling later this month, alongside leaks outlining some of its key features and expected pricing. Once released, the smartphone will join the Vivo Y200 5G in the product lineup, introduced in India back in October 2023.
The Upcoming Vivo Y200e
Vivo India recently announced on X (Twitter) that the Vivo Y200e 5G will be launched in India on February 22nd. The company’s website now has a product page dedicated to this phone. The handset is available, in orange colors which are likely to be marketed as Diamond Black and Saffron Delight shades based on previous leaks.
The orange model of the Vivo Y200e 5G has a vegan leather finish with crisscross patterns resembling stitches on the panel. On the other hand, the blue variant also has a textured finish, with a plastic back instead of faux leather.
The rear camera setup of the Vivo Y200e 5G consists of three aligned units within a rectangular camera module. There is also an LED flash unit positioned next to the camera setup. Overall the design of the back panel bears similarities to that of its predecessor, the Vivo Y200 5G. With a third camera instead of the Aura Light feature found in the earlier model.
Rumors suggest that in India, the Vivo Y200e 5G will have a price below Rs. 20,000 and may offer RAM options of either 6GB or 8GB, with an internal storage capacity of 128GB which can be virtually expanded up to 16GB.
There have been discussions suggesting that the upcoming device may feature a 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED display, with a full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is also rumored to have a peak brightness of 1200nits. In terms of performance, the phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. Will likely run on either Android 13 or an Android 14-based user interface. Additionally, Vivo is anticipated to include a battery with support for fast charging at up, to 44W through wired connections.
In terms of optics, the Vivo Y200e 5G could feature a 50-megapixel primary camera along with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor at the rear, complemented by a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. Additional features might include an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. The device is estimated to weigh approximately 185.5g and measure around 7.79mm in thickness.
