Bengaluru FC are close to signing Mario Barco from Inter Kashi to bolster their squad for the January transfer window. The arrival of the Spanish forward would provide the club with a much needed boost for the second half of the season, so that they can make the playoffs.
The Blues have been in poor form this season, and recently dismissed Simon Grayson as their head coach over the lack of results. The team is currently ninth in the table, but only a point away from the top six spots.Â
Mario Barco expected to join Bengaluru FC in JanuaryÂ
The 31-year-old has scored three goals and provided seven assists in nine games for Inter Kashi this season. Kashi have also signed Gianni Dos Santos as a potential replacement for the Spaniard, and a move seems to be certain once the two clubs can reach an agreement over the transfer fee.Â
Mario Barco featured for Athletic Bilbao in Spain alongside Cadiz and a number of other Spanish sides in the second and third division before signing for Inter Kashi at the start of the season.
He will now play in the top tier of Indian football once he completes his transfer to Bengaluru FC. With the Kalinga Super Cup set to take place in a little over two weeks, the Spaniard could make his debut in Bhubaneswar with two extra foreigners allowed.
